Position: Offshore Accountant
Department: Finance and Accounting
Reports to: Finance Manager
Location: Offshore (Remote)
Job Summary:
The Offshore Accountant is responsible for managing and overseeing financial transactions, ensuring accurate financial records, and preparing financial reports. This position will work closely with the Finance Manager and other members of the finance team to ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies. The role requires excellent attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work independently in a remote environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting and Analysis:
Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements and reports.
Conduct financial analysis and provide insights to support decision-making.
Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
Accounting Operations:
Manage accounts payable and receivable processes.
Perform reconciliations of bank statements, accounts, and ledgers.
Ensure timely and accurate processing of invoices, payments, and expense reports.
General Ledger Maintenance:
Maintain the general ledger by posting journal entries and performing month-end and year-end close processes.
Ensure all financial transactions are recorded accurately and in accordance with accounting standards.
Compliance and Auditing:
Assist in the preparation and coordination of internal and external audits.
Ensure compliance with financial regulations, company policies, and accounting standards.
Maintain documentation for all financial transactions and audit trails.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts.
Monitor budget performance and report variances to the Finance Manager.
Support the development of financial plans and strategies.
Communication and Collaboration:
Collaborate with the finance team and other departments to ensure accurate financial reporting.
Communicate effectively with offshore team members and management.
Provide financial information and support to other departments as needed.
Continuous Improvement:
Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices.
Stay updated with changes in accounting standards and regulations.
Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
CPA or equivalent certification is preferred.
Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience, preferably in a remote or offshore setting.
Strong knowledge of accounting principles, standards, and regulations.
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a remote environment.
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
High level of integrity and professionalism.
